Out of Bondage, Running Free 3/8/2009 4:50:31 PM We make a pretty good job at putting chains in our lives, chains of anger and regret, and putting ourselves in the prison of unforgiveness, and we write our own death sentence,
putting to death our hopes and our joy.
My father left us for another woman, and it took me years to forgive him. My former husband abandoned us to take the lifestyle they call "alternative", I found it hard to forgive and anger was eating up my life. Looking back, I realized that not forgiving imprisoned me and left me angry,
depressed, and hopeless. The guilty party never cared and never suffered from my unforgiveness, I did. I was in prison and the chains kept coming, with shackles too. It was only God's grace that took away the hurt, and it was His love that filled my heart so much, there was no more room for anger.
I was released as I released my "oppressors". He set me free
and made me see the Light outside of my prison, and now that I am out of bondage, I'm running...and running...free!!!!
