Color Blurs the Vision
3/18/2009 5:42:58 PM

When points are raised in one's writing, discussion must center on those points. Views and opinions must be rational and logical, citing the facts and arguments in an open-minded
point-for-point presentation.

When bias and prejudice gets in the way, the issues get cloudy. When RACISM gets mixed in it, the issues get blurred. Writing is a right, it is freedom of speech. But like all rights, it entails and demands a responsibility from the writer.

A writer who presents his views is always open to comments and criticisms, and he must be prepared for that. If a writer is too "onion-skinned" as not to see the points raised behind the comments, then he will eventually get EMOTIONAL. An emotional writer colors his words and diverts the focus from facts to bigotry. His arguments get hazy because his vision is blurred by color. His points turn from issues to THREATS.

Racism thrives on hate. Anger is its fuel and it never accomplishes anything but "burns" through, destroying everything in its path. I hope America has gotten over that.
