The reason I composed this poem was to enable readers to have a recollection of the events of that moment. Having personally been there at the time of the tragedy I realize the importance to recall how much that event touched everyone. When I looked up in the sky that morning I saw two air force jets flying overhead. This reminded me about the awful event that took place high in the sky, above all the skyscrapers in New York.
For me, it meant fixing what happened in my mind in a manner that I could easily recall so that we will never forget how we were attacked here in the United States of America.
In the spring of 2004 this poem was published in a poetry anthology entitled, Touching the Sky, which is available on my distributor site and will be available through a link here in the Author's Den site. The original poem is available to read on Author's Den.
I would be honored to receive comments on the poem from those who would like to read its content. Thanks for reading...dw
