What else can go wrong...

I'm almost packed...amazing how much I need for a couple of weeks away...
I went in to the arthritis doctor and had steroid shots in my knees so I would be 'sprightly' on vacation and today, out of no where, the left knee went out completely, just suddenly wouldn't hold my weight. Probably a rebellion of some kind, God knows they carry a lot all the time but I don't need this now of all times. Granted, after I wobbled down the hallway and back to my desk, I was able to put weight on the knee but it was very painful. I'm not sure how I feel about this age thing, I sure agree that getting old is not for sissies, you have to be tough to survive it. And the physical isn't the worst of it either. The other day my sister and I were driving near my house and we saw a new oil change place. We both agreed it was nice having it within walking distance. I only realized how silly the statement was later that night when I thought about the place opening nearby. I'm sure I will walk over and get the oil changed soon. I wondered then how many silly statements I let slip during an average day, that my friends and co-workers are too embarrassed to point out? When my knee went out, people were concerned and sympathetic, not worried about acknowledging the physical...when they see signs the mind is going, will they suddenly have nothing to say? Probably. Or so I would assume...I can only assume because if my mind were slipping I would not know it and so would not notice whether they did not say anything. So how will I know? That I'm starting to say silly things? Will you tell me? And how will you know? I say so many silly things intentionally, how will anyone know when they become unintentional? Food for thought. I'm going to take my sore knee and bruised ego to the corner and think on it awhile...if I forget to come back will someone remind me that there is a meeting in an hour.....
