What is happening here? Are we going thru a crisis of sorts?

Lately there have been several poignant situations come to forefront from members and friends... and I wonder... Is there something we can do to help? To change things for the better?
Being a member of AD has been shortlived for me so far, but for the most part, I certainly have learned so much...gained friends, and especially been fortunate enough to gain more confidence in my ability to be a writer and author. Sometimes I fear that out work becomes so co-mingled with our friendships on here that we tend to lose focus and feelings become tender and bruised. I know that is not what any of us intend thru this wonderful process here...so... I'd like to address a few things...and plz feel free to jump in and state your feelings, or ideas, or whatever... I invite you to this forum... my blog!!!
1. Sandie May Angel - she's upset over something here on AD and says she's not coming back! I don't know if anyone knows why...all I know is that...she's a wonderful person and writer...and has been on here a long time! I have no clue how to help her...and don't know if it's my place to interfere...however, I care about her... what about you?
2. Karla and Karen Lynn are suffering thru economic issues..they are desperately in need of financial help...and food... My heart hurts for them, and I've prayed heavily about it...but I too live on little and just have to do without alot myself...but somehow...I never ask because it's just not how I've ever done that..sometimes to my regret... so... is there something we can do? Should do? Evidently our love and emotional support and prayers are not enough right now????
3. Bonnie May is loving and generous and wants to help financially, even tho it will mean hardship for her as well.. yet she asks us to come together to help our friends... I think it's wonderful and generous, and she's blessed to be able to do so... I'll try to help too, but not sure if I can... Perhaps that is the problem with many of us... not that we don't love them or care..but because we are each struggling too...maybe just as hard...or harder if that's possible... What do we do about this?
4. Recently there was an AD mbr who wrote about honesty in comments and reviews...that would be a welcome change...yet.. when I asked for a simple "plz read my post and give your honest opinion"... I got a "professional" response about...being busy...send the posts....I'll get to them when I can, etc.... I totally understand all of that... however.... this wasn't what I asked... We post our work here right? We hope someone will read it and give some type of comment...knowing that we may or may not agree...knowing that often our "fellow friends" will be supportive and encouraging....however, not always critique honestly.... so... all I wanted was.... take a minute plz...read it...tell me if the piece has merit... no big rocket science...(if I wanted or expected that...I would have sent it for a professional review in the first place...) so.. I had to calm down.. and try hard to understand.. what was so difficult about this request? then I summized that... neither of us are on the same page..so... thank you very much...but no thank you! Wrong attitude? Perhaps...but like I said... not rocket science... if the table were reversed...dummy here would have said, "sure...and read it...and said, great, not so great...needs this...not timely...duh... and that would be that"... guess I'm too simplistic!
(5) Our tracking and comments, reviews and followers are usually transient... I'm learning this now... took awhile... and we will always have that handful of faithful followers..thank God for them... those who always lend a hand, a kind word, and make us feel like we are contributing something to this den.... but.... then there are those who need...want...expect...us to read, support, encourage etc... all the time.... and they get used to having that support, then tend to forget that it needs to be reciprocated sometime... it can't always go one way...so.. do we learn from that? Do we change? Do we have better ways of communicating with one another? ARe we to involved?
(6) Politics, race and religion... these are always, and will always be touchy..and often dangerous topics...yet they are rampant especially now...with the election, and with race and religion in the forefront right along with politics. Do we get offended sometimes by the posts and blogs etc? Yes...of course we do...because we don't always agree do we? However.... that is our FREEDOM to SPEECH... and FREEDOM to choose. If I don't like something, don't believe in it, or don't support it..I simply keep passing it on...and don't read it... I don't make it my business...it's not my concern...or my cup of tea.... HOwever... if I agree, or like your point of view, I will read it... my choice... and thank God for that freedom. Do we need to debate all of this? I don't think so... you like what you like, and I like what I like... simple as that.... what's to be hateful about? What's to hurt the feelings of others? Why must this become such a volatile subject?
(6) America, Canada, other countries.... Cheez...this can be so annoying sometimes too... I love my country... they love theirs... Sometimes we fail to forget that...EVERYWHERE IS SOMEONES HOME... PERIOD! We can learn from one another...and the first thing should be to respect each other... and of course, i'd love it too if we could love one another in the process... but that's wishful thinking... :-))
(7) WRiters and authors - We are creative individuals who have egos...even tho we don't always like to admit to that... that is why we write or paint or create whatever... most of us do it passionately... some of us have skills and talents in one field, while others excel at something else.. every once in awhile a few can master them all...better than others... so... wonderful... I'm not one of those... I'm just me... someone who loves to write... (paint simply and humbly...and use all the crayons in my can while I'm at it)... however... I cannot write poetry...I just connect sentences... many of you are soooo blessed with that talent... we are all successful...even if we don't make money... we are successful because we create...we do what we love...and we never stop trying.... that is why it's important that we be supportive and help each other whenever we can.... at our craft... because... we truly are peers.... electronic friends... often feeling closer than that of a mechanical vein... but... many of us are limited... we cannot save the world... but we do need to be respected... to mingle on paper... to be honest and kind and assist whenever possible.
(7) Last thing... honest.. Gays, Lesbians, Eroticism... Personally... I used to have a much quieter view... "live and let live"... have friends of all types and treasure them... period. On the den however... I have learned to read more....to better understand their work, their writing, their communication.... and it's very similar to mine..except... I love the opposite gender for myself... but hey... I certainly don't think it's for me to judge..lest I be judged.... besides... I'd miss out on knowing some really wonderful people! Eroticism...well, I'm shy about that...so that is something else I'm learning to read privately... and altho I don't always understand (duh) alot of it... It has opened my mind to realizing that it's a good thing to be open and unafraid and to love your body and yourself.... that's also a good thing... However... it's my choice to read or not.... not my place to denounce or be critical... period... Wish some of you were more thoughtful...but.. that's your choice too.
Now... I've gone on and on here...but that is what blogging is about... and I hope that some of you read this..and those that chose not to... hey... that's what this is about isn't it... choice! Thank you for hanging in... I'm interested if anyone has solutions to some of these questions (if one is posed here.)...
