My two cents worth.... more or less....

Politics get nasty. People get nastier. He says, She says...
Okay..I can't keep my two cents in my pocket. Here goes. Frankly, I wish everyone would vote for my guy...but mainly...I just hope you vote... and make it count! Please don't waste your vote...don't forget to vote...don't fuss and complain and give your opinions when in the final moment...you don't even vote... you don't count!!!!
The reason I guess I'm a little upset about this vote thing is because...I struggled so much over this entire decision..from beginning to almost end. First, my choice didn't win the candidacy. I was angry and frustrated and disappointed because I'd studied, researched, and finally decided my choice was the best! Guess not enough believed what I believed...so.. I had to reinvent my thought process.. I decided, "I'll never vote for "him"...I'd rather not vote at all." Well...nevermind! So..I said I'd vote for the guy I never liked... Why? Because I was filled with all kinds of rumors, stories, untruths, and just silly but tragic traditions. Well, even tho I was determined to vote for that guy I don't like...I began to really study once again...listen more carefully...compare, match, and disect information on both candidates. Then...the guy I wasn't going to vote for chose one of my political idols as his VP choice.... Well, okay...let me reconsider this one. (I wanted him for PResident but he never got far)... so... I began to be swayed...not for the candidate, but his VP choice! (I'm a woman, and I can change my mind!) Then... the guy I was going to vote for...the one I never liked...chose his VP choice...and...oh my gosh!!!! I really got sick inside..Felt humiliated that this perfectly nice, small town woman with little to no experience would possibly be PRESIDENT...well.. I got a lump in my throat... so... I went back and forth AGAIN... WATCHED every TV news report...every debate...read everything I possibly could...and oh golly...I forgot... I'm a christian too...and.. altho I love God with all my heart... I decided... God would want me to make a wise choice...so...I prayed about it as well... often... and guess what? I personally believe God answered...and he said... Change your vote girl! Ha! Do you believe that? Well... I wanted to believe that God spoke to me and swayed me to change my vote...(Christians are shuddering in their shoes right now...I can feel it)... but... golly...the God I know and love...well, He let me decide this one... so... I found myself beginning to thaw out...beginning to stop the old prejudices...the old ugly beliefs...stop finding so much "sin".."wrongdoing"..."racism" etc...in my research... Well... I couldn't believe that I was truly softening...finding myself being protective...standing up for what I believe is right...and it doesn't always fit what others believe is right... and then... the election process got worse..... yes.... I said... worse...or worser...or worsest... and... UGLINESS took on a complete new meaning! Can't find anything christian in those actions...sorry! Soon the smiling faces began to look distorted to me as I saw them on the TV screen... Ugly and false...and I wondered.... "Who is truly the false prophet/prophetess in this?"....... and again, I just saw nothing but sick, ugly, and more confusion.
Well, then my hubby, who had been so self-righteous in his decision to vote for his choice...he, who kept telling me trying to sell me...trying to sway me...and even smiled when I said... OK...I've decided! Then... he mails in his ballot, and says... I voted for so & so.... AN INDEPENDENT! Can I tell you that I was furious!!! What??? A wasted vote!!! Sure, the guy is great...he'd be a good President, but he's run, so many times....never won...just threw a monkey wrench into the race at the end!! Well...now my vote truly is important...it has to count!!! You know me...I'm fair...I believe FREEDOM to choose is so important... and I value those choices.... so... I had to stop ranting and fussing at hubby... altho I will never understand why he bothered to vote knowing it will be a lost cause, and could lose the election for the one who should win!!!
Just vote... that's the bottom line... I've said it a million times.. Now, I have to wonder...did I really mean it? Well... I guess... okay... I do mean it! Vote Please.. Vote your conscience...not what your hubby tells you, or wife tells you....or friends or boss expect of you...but vote for your own choice... just do yourself a favor... and be honest with yourself.... Don't use God as your excuse... Remember that God would be a great vote...but HE already is in charge (isn't HE?) and things aren't changed.... so... maybe HE wants us to do the work...the research...and make the choices for ourselves... Afterall...this AIN'T HEAVEN ...is it? When we die and hopefully get swept up by all those lovely angels....things will be perfect...that's what I'm told....so... in the meantime... REALITY IS AT HAND... and... I've mailed in my own ballot... and... I'm happy with my choice... My conscience is content... and my heart is pure... Now... all I can do is hope that things will be better... One thing is for certain however....whoever wins...really loses....this mess he'll be inheriting is one for the history books... and... He will certainly need us.. the entire USA working with him... and...in case you do believe... pray for him too... :-)) miracles do happen. lindalaw
