I Won The Contest

Today I got out of bed and had had enough!! Last year in August I had bought a new mattress. I have an adjustable bed and about two months before it was to going to be a year old the middle started being lopsided. I called the man where we had gotten the mattress and he said that company had the strictest warranty there was. He told me to measure the sides of the bed and if the one side went down one and a half inches lower than the other side to call him. I told him at the time that you could not see it that you could only feel it when you layed on it. He didn't seem to be too concerned.
I tryed all kinds of things even laying on the floor. That lasted about an hour and a half before my hip bones felt like they were going to go into the concrete floor. So I just kept moving over. I am within an inch of the edge of the bed now. My neck is messed up, my back is getting twisted, and my shoulder is hurting, because in the night I am not awake enough to get my shoulder right in spot where it should go.
This morning I had decided to call the man again. I called yesterday but he was not there and did not return my call. That was a big surprise! I am a calm rational person pretty much anytime Unless I am getting ripped off, and then I can become a little nasty.
The place opens at 10:00A.M. so I called at 9:55A.M. so that I could be the first call. I needed something to get this guy's attention and all of a sudden I remembered my great uncle had been ripped off by a hearing aid company and the news man in the town where we had bought the mattress had it on the news. Miraculously the company refused to do the right thing until the news man had gotten involved and my uncle's money was returned so graciously.
I dialed the number and waited. I then asked for the man that had sold me the mattress. He wasn't there. I told the man that he had one and a half hour to call me back or I was going to call the news man. He said, whoa, whoa, whoa, I do not know what the problem is or who you are. I told him the other man did and that I was sick of being jerked around. I told him if he wanted to play that game I would play and proceded to tell him that I had gotten money that was owed to me from a blind lady one time who was trying to take advantage of me. I was going to give her a perm for free until I saw her on tv trying to get her furnace payed for by people who felt sorry for her. I then started hearing all kinds of stories how she took advantage of other people in businesses. I was not going to let her get away with that. I got all but four dollars of what she owed me.
He told me how the other man was an honest guy and how they had a good reputation there. I told him that I hope so, because I would sure hate to see
my business all over the news.
He started apologizing and making excuses and I said something and he started in about how they did not make the warranties and I told him that is why there is a warranty in the first place. He said, "Could I finish"? I said I would be glad to let him finish if he stopped making excuses because there was no excuse. He said he was not making excuses and I told him to have the man call me and I hung up on him.
It was not even 5 minutes until the guy called so sweet and said he was so sorry he had not got the message. I told him that I wanted something done now. He was going to come look at it himself and then decided to just let me come to the store and pick out another mattress instead that was comparable to the one that I had bought before. Isn't that amazing. People do not let people take advantage of you. You deserve that money as much as they think they do. Until Later - Lori
