Authority of the Bible by J-me (Part IV)

Are there other works that replace the Bible as the Word of God?
Several times I have been asked, "Are there other books that are equal to or replace the Bible as the Word of God?"
The answer is NO!
• The Bible is very clear that nothing can be added to or taken away from the Holy Scriptures. Listen to this warning given by the scriptures themselves:
Revelation 22:18-19, " For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophesy, God shall take away his part out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."
God is very serious indeed about his word, and the consequences of those that try to corrupt it!
• For the Christian, the Holy Bible is the one true authority. It is the written Word of God. Whether there is instruction, knowledge, or revelation - it must be in agreement with the Holy Bible to be valid.
There is nothing written, spoken, or revealed in any other manner that supersedes the authority of the Holy Bible!
Acts 17:10-13 states, "And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
It is evident God expects everything to be searched out in the scriptures, and even calls the Bereans more noble for having done so.
• It is a belief in Jesus according to the scriptures contained in the Holy Bible that matters.
Jesus states in John 7:38, "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. "
John 8:31-32, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
True freedom comes only by God's Word.
Jesus commends those in the church of Philedelphia:
Revelation 3:8, "I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name."
• Finally, the scriptures contained in the Holy Bible are God's Word to man - and are the final authority for all Christians!
I Peter 1:23-25, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."
