I find that spring has fast approached. It’s one of my favorite times of the year with all the beautiful flowers and colors.
The birds, squirrels and bunnies, are wandering out of there little save havens more each day. The sun shines down a little more, thawing our winter season to a memory. What gifts.
It’s like watching the world coming to life all on its own. Soon the butterflies and bees will be buzzing about here and there over their favorite flowers. If you have a place to put a bird feeder, bird house, or bird bath out or some nuts for squirrels so that you can watch nature work its magic – it is a joy to watch.
I have flower gardens around my house – It has flowers and plants planted all around– front, back, and sides. Everything you can possibly imagine! We just recently moved in last August but this is our first spring and wow – what beauty! I’ve never seen so much beauty in nature.
Out side my window I watch birds bathe and we have several bird houses that the birds like to fight over and often nest in – last August we had baby birds in one. We have a few bird feeders including a humming bird feeder where I can see them hovering all around. We have a squirrel that likes to build his nest in our huge tree in the back and rabbits that hop in and out of the flowers and plants that are all around the house. It is a beautiful sanctuary in my own back yard.
Most of the little gardening area in the back and front are hedged in by large flat stone rocks that make it look even more like real nature, like you’re in a forest and there should be a spring or creek near by. There are two trees in the back and each one is a different color – purple flowers for the small – red flowers for the large – and we have bright yellow bushes for ‘seclusion’ on the side of the back. It’s quite breath taking. The front has two large trees that haven’t ‘sprung’ yet. In August we had a huge, gigantic, bright red bush on the side that is ready to green just now. It magical how nature slowly awakens to life and how we slowly awaken to nature.
On my way to work the sunrises are awing, especially on a day that is cloudy. The sun just starts to peak its head above and throws out all kinds of colors into the sky. No two sunrises are the same. On my way to work I have to cross a bridge on sort of a ‘secluded’ highway. There are only a few buildings scattered here or there but for the most part it’s all hills of green and trees. Just before I cross over the river the sun is peaking over the trees, above the water and bridge and the colors are reflected off the clouds…….
Well I’ll leave it to you to image just how awing and beautiful it is. It leaves you with a warm feeling and you can’t take your eyes away from it. It looks like a picture you want to hang above the mantle on your fire place.
These are just some of the things I’ve been experiencing this year. I hope they encourage you to slow down in life and ‘smell the roses’ a little more. Nature seems to quiet our souls and let the divinity within each of us come out a little more – after all – we ourselves are nature too.
