Life Lessons For Little Ones

So we had Thanksgiving here Saturday. The day started out a little rough though. I had told my mom that I was going to get up at 5:00A.M. to start the turkey.
We almost didn't have a turkey. We had bought a turkey two weeks ago and it was all thawed last Thursday. I was only supposed to pick up 15lbs. and our turkey weighed 20lbs, so I had asked our son to pick it up and place it right back in refridgerator. I thought that he had, but that night my husband had gone to the grocery to get the things that we needed for Saturday. I went to place something out into the freezer and there was the turkey. I almost had a heart attack. I jerked it out and put it back into the fridge. It had already been freezing 7 hours.
Well on Saturday morning my husband came into my bedroom to walk the dog at 3:00A.M. He was going to throw the turkey into the roaster for me. He asked me how to start the turkey, so I told him. I forgot to tell him how I was going to put the giblets into the outside fridge for my mom to come down and get them so that my dad could make the dressing. I heard the dogs barking and could not understand why, and then I remembered. I hurried and got up and my husband told me that he had done something stupid. I asked him what could have been so bad? He said that he had remembered to take the giblets out and then proceded to throw them away.
My mom had already left so I hurried and called her and told her to come back down and get broth and some meat to put into the dressing. She did and the mistake was taken care of.
All of the rest of the day went fine and we had alot of fun. We played bingo and the turkey was fantastic. The ones on TV look pretty, but the ones that fall off of the bone and look like roadkill are the best.
