Executive Functioning Skills allow children to beable to organize. Those children who are diagnosed with ADHD many times have deficits in this area. Areas that are affected include initiating something, organizing, controlling emotions, and having the ability to manage time. You can see how this all can affect school success. We need to make sure that these deficits are supported so that our kids with ADHD can be successful and avoid low self-esteem!!! so many believe that ADHD just means active and bad...where in reality, it affects so many things...without enough information on the part of parents and school personnel, a disability perspective can not be kept...which is necessary!!!!
