Still not quite ready to publish!
1/30/2011 5:53:02 AM
Theres more to publishing your own book than meets the eye!
Finally managed to get the Serach In side book submission to send after cutting the front cover away from the back cover using Paint. This reduced the size of the JPEG so the transmission went through. Now waiting to see if it is acceptable.

Although the front cover for Stags! looks good, there is a missing ingredient. It would be good to incorporate a football scarf (and maybe a passport), but rather than make the front a bit too busy, we are creating an image for the back containing these.

Finally ready? Not quite! Ive never been too confident about grammar, punctuation, etc. I can get by, but for a professional book I should use an editor - but that is not what this is about. I want a draft of my book in published form, with a view to getting reviews. So, I came across Grammarly.com, a website that gives very good guidance regarding refinements to your grammar and punctuation (I am sure it would have a busy time with my blog).

So Im now going through it chapter by chapter - then I will give it yet another final reading before submitting to Createspace.

Has anyone used Grammarly? It seems ok - though there are one or two odd suggestions that I have chosen to ignore.
