Standard and Poor's
8/8/2011 9:58:26 AM
There is enough food on this planet to feed the earth's population 10 times over, so why is there starvation?
It just occured to me what the Standard and Poor's means: "We wealthy have our lavish standard of living; you poor are in the dumps." Every time I hear that Wall Street bell, I think of how preposterous it is. I say, "it doesn't affect me." You can learn to say that too. You know there is enough food on this planet to feed the earth's population 10 times over, so why is there starvation? The illusion of overpopulation is promoted by repeated videos of Manhattan, Hong kong, or Tokyo at rush hour. Ever driven across Pennsylvania on Rt. 80? For each billionaire, mathematically it means there will be X number of people in poverty. Same goes for millionaires. Statistics can be used to fool the mathematically-challenged. Make the following your own: That which makes the rest of the human race sad can certainly make your joy greater.
