"A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest" -- Simon and Garfunkel
Doesn't take much to see the global financial problems mounting, does it? The Rolling Stones couldn't get any "satisfaction." Simon and Garfunkel sang, "A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest." What does mankind disregard? Here is a quote that describes the money situation: "Ho, every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and you labor for that which does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in fatness. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live" (Isaiah 55: 1-3 RSV).
Honesty translates into mental health; dishonesty into mental illness. On all the money out there, what is printed on it? "In God we trust." So where might be your trust these days?
