Week Two, The Crutches

Thoughts on week two of being confined to crutches and the recliner. My random thoughts.
I have started week two using crutches. The pain from the broken leg is one thing, but after using crutches for over a week, I've discovered other interesting items.
First, the crutches don't work well in a small half bath. It is only a few steps away and I can get there navigating around the animals, but its a one person bathroom. The crutches do not want to fit with my body through the door unless I am going in sideways.
Secondly, you start noticing other bruises. I had been so focused on the pain in my leg, I failed to notice the other places I didn't know hurt! I found my leg was bruised up to my knee and down to the base of my toes. Another bruise appeared on my right foot, and several small bruises appeared in other weird parts of my body.
Third, the crutches make you hurt in other ways. The crutches are adjustable for height, but they are not well padded. I stand up and both palms hurt from clutching the handle. Not to mention the pain you feel when an wild and unruly underarm hair reminds you it would have been better if you had shaved more recently!
I know, trivial items in the grand scheme of life. But since this is the third break, on the same leg, at the same point, I think I have a a little to complain about! Hopefully soon, I can place some weight on it, and go around doing things for myself again. I'm so thankful for the love and attention given to me by my family and especially my husband!
