Fingernails - The Long and Short of Them

So glad I am to get rid of long natural fingernails. They really don't suit me at all. I just try them on once in a while for fun, but quickly tire of their cumbersomeness -- the bad Points. They look dazzling, all right, shining and shimmering in various shades of rose and wine, but they prevent the fingertips from touching anything. Washing ears with long nails is like using a cloth draped over a popsicle stick -- blades! that's what lovely, long nails are -- blades that dig into your gums when flossing teeth and they are dangerous anywhere near the eye.
Dailing a phone number on a push-button phone results in the long nail hitting the wrong number. You can't make a fist without them trenching into the palm; and trying to retreive a paper clip is like trying to pick up a straight pin with chopsticks.
You have to excuse yourself for jabbing people, and can punch through a pair of panty hose without even knowing it.
I think long nails are for the cats.
