SPIRIT CONNECTIONS: Connecting with the soul in artistic expression...
There they were in front of the Landmark Shattuck Theatre in Berkeley, quietly displaying their artistic creations which had been lovingly placed on soft blankets in the mid-afternoon warmth on the 4th of July.
One artist offered 5"x7" prints of his extravagant paintings, which take us on a soul journey of creation itself. A captivating image for me was the male-female alchemical conjunctio, foreheads touching, hands holding a globe between them, standing against the backdrop of an explosive, galactic mystery. Hugs, deep eye contact and allusions to spirit-inspiration. See his stunning work at http://www.joshualabb.com
The other, unnamed artist, was a shy purveyor of exquisite and intricate modern origami (no cranes here) that captivated my partner, Cindie. A palm-sized creation of multicolored paper, fashioned in two concentric, interlocking circles which rolled into and through one another in a constant unfolding - like life itself. Amazing.
Hope they are there when you visit.
