Time to change my job I think, otherwise I'll be trapped. In fact I think I am trapped. Oh to be a full time author - dream on. I read an excellent article by an American literary critic the other day on 5 things not to do to get an agent. Nothing particularly outstanding except his conclusion - and he was right. I followed all the guidelines, read many books on how to approach agents, what to do what not to do, blah blah blah... His conclusion was that if you follow all the advice your submission will look the same as everyone else's!! He said be individual and try and form a personal relationship - easier said than done - his final advice being the most valuable - never ever give up ! And I won't.
