My Father was Irish and my Mother was Scottish--My Grand father wrote Poetry and used to read to me when I was a small boy-sadly when he died all of his poems were thrown away. the reason given by my Uncles and Aunts was that it
" was just a bunch of old poems"-weird I know. I only wrote one poem in Grade 7 as a class assignment and with the help pf my older sister I wrote " If I had 4 wishes"--everybody always said 3 wishes-I decided to go for one more and this was the poem:
If I had 4 Wishes
If I had 4 wishes
I know what I would wish for
I would wish to be Brave, wealthy, and strong and live very long
but....
what good would it be to be Brave and Strong wealthy and live
very long....if I had not a friend to live with
in this world that is so strong?

I never wrote another poem until 1996-the year my mother died
I understand if some people may find my poetry Dark-a tad too strong even but it is me and I only write as I feel its time to write out my feelings and thoughts.
