Nothing to forgive--we are all allowed to be slightly irrational now and again--I did mine two weks ago :) As far as reviews go, as nice as they are-not that I get many--hint, hint, they do not matter as much as the stat page where literally hundreds read our stories. These are the potential buyers of books or future books we may have--so worry over the stats if you must worry, but the reviews are just something pleasureable to read by our friends and peers.BTW the next out burst from you is not due for six months lol.

Karen I am sorry you are having problems, but it is important to remember why we write, not for the amount of reviews. but to get a message out. I am praying for you. and for Karla, if something deeper is going on plz drop me a line via messageboard, email or anyway at all possible

Sounds like it might be healthy for you to get away from the computer and get out more. Writing may cleanse your soul but quantity does not mean quality. You mention that your sis sometimes works an hour on a poem...a whole hour??? LOL C'mon Karen!! You both seem like wonderful folks but isn't this cry for attention a bit much??!! Pen pals are great but you can't live your life online. There are so many more fun, exciting, productive and enlightening things to accomplish by living in the real world. I mean this in a good way and wish you the best.

In terms of reviews, in general the poetry is always easier to read and will garner more reviews in return per amount of time spent reading it. Reciprocity is a fact of life around here. So that is to say, it is two parts the number of reviews you give, to one part talent, multiplied by a factor of how many people you haven't alienated that still bother to track you and review any more. I LOVE my trackers, even though I am not half the writer THEY are, and I let them know it. Be humble, and grateful, and remember, you have a choice whether to stay and post or not. Maybe you need to post somewhere else where they don't know you for a while. How about posting your writing here anonymously, that is, as someone else for a while to get a change of perspective. One day you will realize, that this will not continue forever, and a new kid in town will take your place one day, and the reviews you get now will trickle down to nothing in comparison. Better yet, just go away, and leave this place for those who write because they still have a passion for it and have something to say, and not for ego's sake.

Better start thinking bigger than AD, and ride your momentum to something bigger, cause the ride won't last forever, instead of complaining that the flame is not the right color, even as you are going ninety miles an hour with your hair on fire. You will fall to earth one day, and like the rest of us, have to be grateful for every humbling scrap. Then maybe you will remember why you started writing in the first place. If you want more, invite some professional reviewers who have no stake in keeping you or your sister's ego's afloat,and see how you like what THEY have to say...That will take you down a notch or too. Reality check time...You have enjoyed the ride too long... Long live the Trackers!!!! You guys Rock! Yeah! Love you all, Starman

If you go where you are mentioned in AD your name is not poetess or story teller or whatever, there says AUTHOR, now my dear Karen, if you can't read I can't either so, I can't help you. :-) LOL

Karen we all get frustraited at times and it is okay. You said the other day someone upped your membership to GOLD, that has to tell you something about your writing. As for Karla using a Dictionary and a Thesaurus, I am guilty of that too. You said it takes her an hour to write a poem, check my site there are times I only post one every few days because of the work I have to put into it. I too have 100 trackers and average about 15 reviews. So try to understand people love you guys as I know they love me. We are family here on the den and it ok for us to vent once in a while. Ah, Sweetie, I think that the two of you are simply two of the most popular people on AD, whether you like it or not. You may not think that your stuff is any good, but there are tons of us who disagree. We do. And we reserve the right to like your work, and we outnumber you ... so there :-)

Now go read "The Devil" (poem) which features you and Karla doing your stormy "Don't Mess With Texas" magic. It should give you the notion that you two are held in super high regard around these parts, Ma'am.
