I think the genre your book is in all depends on who you are talking to. Its a sports book to young teens, its a coming of age book to parents who want their kids to read. I think labeling your book for a genre is just for marketing. I can't think of any book that stuck to their so called genre in this moment and thats because they probaly were not that good of a book. When some one ask you is your book about space, you say, "Yes, it talks about lots of spaces.'
