Thank you, Deborah. Appropriate for me to read this today. There are two people in my life who are in this position, one being my sister. The helpful part of this blog you have written, at least for me today, is "help them any way you can." It is too very easy to say, "I can't help....there's nothing I can do." This makes me think it over. Again.
I believe we are all here to help each other along this road we call life. I, too, suffer from occasional depression. Supportive friends and family make all the difference in the world! Your words will touch many, I'm sure!
Bi-polar is debilitating, I have counseled many with this disorder. As you are aware at the time of spiraling downward all hope seems lost. I have seen two people (not in my charge) commit suicide. Heartbreaking for all those around them, so helpless a feeling. The person cannot rationalize how it will affect their loved ones as they feel their only hope is escape. Bless you for making awareness on this.
