Starting next Monday, Dec 9, "Sam" is going free, totally utterly free, for five days. Offer closes midnight Dec 13. Lovers of animals, especially horses, lovers of humans and their always-dicey Human Condition, will get a laugh and maybe a good cry reading about the adventures and mishaps of Ruthie and her magnificent, ugly, stubborn, cranky but loyal steed Sam.
Teen-age horse-mad girls can relate to the tragedy of parents who don't 'get' the horse thing, even though the poor parents may be truly distressed by the naked love kids have for their ponies, by the arguments with those kids about the hours spent at the barn, by the money outlays, and so on. Sam deals with these misunderstandings and many, many more.
The last KindleFreebie event was a success, in Susie's terms anyhow. When the category is 'Literary Fiction' and zombies, vampires and gore are conspicuously absent from the book's content, one is so happy to get readers who will go with one. Thanks, readers. New readers spoiler: there is a ghost in "Sam." Also a possible murder or murders.
I got over three thousand hits and sold fifty books after. Not terrible. Got some nice notes from readers, too! I am hoping the run-up will go quicker and easier, and that I will use social media to my better advantage.
Stay tuned for more offers, and breaking news about book Number Two, which has very few horses in it, and is a musical murder mystery, starring as the head sleuth......ah, no.
