Update: Wonderful results! 32 adults showed up! This is a quote from one of the attendees:

Dear Danny,

Congratulations on the well-attended meeting at the library.  I came away from your informative, organized, and inspirational presentation with a renewed zeal for writing.  Many thanks for putting forth the effort to assist aspiring writers.  It is evident to me that the Lord is using you in this regard.  It was also heartwarming to hear the presentation done from a Christian worldview.

The conversations I heard as people were leaving were positive in regard to what they’d just heard.  I think people were realizing they could write in more than one style / venue and that they should write more.  Overall, I believe they were encouraged and pleased that they had learned how to go about submitting their writings to publishers.

Specifically, a tall, pretty black lady on the row behind me said she likes to write and wants to write for the Christian market.  She has a children’s book ready to go.  She said this class had given her the nudge she needed to carve out time to begin writing for adults and try to get her writings into the hands of publishers.  Lil Taylor (seated next to me, but had to leave when she couldn’t stop coughing) said she has written five children’s books and is in negotiations with a publisher, but that it isn’t going well and that she might want to pursue another publisher.  The title of her first book is “Santa and the Musical Elves.”

Sharon Sampite, white lady with black hair on the first row opposite from where I sat, is fighting cancer and has experienced what prayers can do.  She said people keep telling her she has a story to write.  She is considering that.  A middle aged black lady (Pam?) I met in the parking lot said she likes writing Christian romances.  She has a big family and is struggling to find time to spend on her writing.  I think she’s going to set her alarm clock to an earlier hour.  A middle aged white lady with glasses and a red shirt two seats to my right told me she is writing daily devotions for crafters.

Just think, Danny, you have encouraged and equipped all those people (and more) to get published!
