Von Kanel has hundreds of published articles in 45+ magazines including: Focus on the Family (under a pen name), Mature Living, Ministries Today, Let’s Worship, The Deacon, Parent Life, The Deacon, Let’s Worship, Group, Rev., Clergy Journal, Enrichment Journal, Priority, The Sunday School Leader, Creator, and The Journal for the American Society of Church Growth.
In addition, he has two books published by CSS Publishing in 2003 & 2005. His third book, Building Your Life by the Owner’s Design, is being by 4RV Publishing in 2013, a royalty paying company.

Danny Von Kanel received his Bachelor of Church Music degree in 1977 from William Carey College Hattiesburg, Ms and Master’s of Church Music degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Von Kanel has served local churches as Minister of Music at Liberty Baptist Church, Liberty, Ms (1999-2002), First Baptist Church, Franklinton, La (2002-2005) and Memorial Baptist Church, Bogalusa, La (2005-2008). He is presently bi-vocational serving Roxie Baptist Church, Roxie, Mississippi. While at Liberty Baptist, his Sweet Spirit Singers toured the country and youth choirs went to Washington D.C. and New York, appearing on television twice. While at Memorial Baptist Church, Von Kanel founded and directed the 2008 School of Fine Arts. He also began their annual Living Nativity. He has been married to Beverly Gay Allen Von Kanel for 34 years. They have two grown sons and five grandchildren.
