Speech at luncheon organized by the San Gabriel Ararat Guild. I will expound on the recent pilgrimage to the Armenian churches in Kolkata, Chennai and other cities on the East Coast of India, and the Armenian community there: origins, development, and present status. |

The speech will cover Armenian community life in India from its beginnings in early seventeenth century to date. The highlights of the tour will be touched upon, particularly the pilgrimage to Kolkata that included the 300th anniversary celebration of one of the six Armenian churches. Also the consecration of an Armenian priest, the re-consecration of renovated religious institutions and the inauguration of the upgraded facilities at the Armenian College in Kolkata will be discussed. .
