This is a joint presentation of Harut Barsamian's memoirs by Mr. Sarkis Mahserejian in Armenian, by me in English, and with comments from Film Producer Howard Kazanjian.
Harut Barsamian lived in three societies with "strikingly different social orders and value systems." Normally one major move across borders, is in itself a traumatic experience. Harut lived through three of these and arrived in the Untied States, from the Soviet Union, with a valise, a family and a Russian-English technical dictionary.
Harut's adolescence in the Soviet Union, his intellectual endeavors that were persistently thwarted because he was an "import", his meteoric rise in the Corporate World in America and the honors received for his lifetime achievements are nothing short of a miracle for a man who has always had to cope with persistent but unexplained physical pain.
Barsamian is a semi-retired Professor at Unviersity of Irvine. He was the recipient of an IEEE Fellow award early in 2009.
Reception will follow the book signing.
