This is an easy going event where people just turn up, chat, drink, chat, eat, chat and then do useful things like listen or take part in readings, raffle off original, signed work in aid of charity (NSPCC this time). An area has been set aside for us, so that newcomers will be able to distinguish the apparently average looking Terror Scribes from normal people.
At an agreed time, depending on energy and appetite some of us will then walk a few yards to an excellent curry house for more eating and chatting.
After all this, there is the option to walk for a further twelve minutes (that should help the food go down nicely), escorted by local members, to a nightclub where, for a discounted fee, they can boogie the rest of the night and part of Sunday morning away.
People who have opted to take a hotel room generally meet up the following day before making their way home.
Apart from incidental costs regarding food, drink and night club entrance fee, the event is entirely free.
