I was able to get some serious work done last night on a longer piece that I’d been working on for some time. I have finished the handwritten draft. The next step is to finish typing it so that I have at least a semi-readable first draft. I was hoping to do that this morning before I went to work, but I slept in instead, so that may be something I’ll have to work on. I’ve been learning a lot from Norman Mailer, and have been encouraged to keep plugging away as a way to get better. One thing he talks about is how to deal with bad reviews. I would like to prepare myself for this, but since I get no reviews at all it has been tough to know what to make of myself. Am I ever going to successfully publish, or will I need to just accept the fact that I’ll have to have a full time job for the rest of my life? (If any rich young ladies out there are looking for a 25-year-old stud in the sack who’ll write them love poems daily, get a hold of me.) Anyway, I’m now available on Twitter .coreyhagemann, and I would love it if someone would get a hold of me that way. Lastly, check out “The Musician,” a new prose poem I wrote for an art show my friend is putting on that was rejected. It was somewhat tossed off, but has something to it.

Writing quickly.  I'm very close to finishing the first draft of my novella, and I'd like to just push through and get a more readable draft ready before I fall back into the laziness of fun, etc.  I entered the Lorian Hemingway Short Story Contest with "Carvin at the Wedding (Reception)," and am hoping that works out.  I also resubmitted my micro stories to an online journal, and submitted "All My Best Wishes" elsewhere.  Now I just wait and work.  Pray, cheer me on, etc. if you care, and I'll once more renew my call for you to contact me in any way possible.
