This story has been released by the newspaper in (Ripley, Tenn.)the town where I grew up.

Earnestine "Teena" Beard Haywood, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., former Lauderdale High School student, published a book for children entitled "Doris the Polka Dot Tortoise".

Publish America, a Baltimore, MD publishing company, released the book.

Reared in Lauderdale County (Ripley, Tenn), she began writing while a student in Lauderdale High and credits her success to Mrs. Earlene Halliburton.
