by J. A. Rodriguez Jr.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill added "Not Intuitively Obvious - Transition to the Professional Work Environment" to the Davis Library Collection

In the world of professional work, the seasoned and most informed professionals always stand out. In times of economic strain, it is they who have the greater chance of pulling through. Priceless knowledge borne out of trials, tribulations and hardships enable them to rise to the top and enjoy success in their chosen profession.

It can be a tough climb for any new graduate or former member of the military who has recently entered the highly competitive job market, but J. A. Rodríguez Jr. aims to even out the odds by sharing personal insights gained from his own extensive experience as a professional.

Culling from twenty-one years of handling leadership roles, Rodríguez compiles the valuable professional lessons he has learned into one informative book that will provide graduates or former members of the military with important advice on excelling in the professional work environment.

Rodríguez presents a how-to on attaining expectation fulfillment and managing the organizational perceptions that guide a new professional’s destiny from both an employee and a senior manager’s perspective, covering both sides of the fence in order to provide a better perspective of the mindsets required to be successful.

No matter what the professional field, Rodríguez’s tips on integrity, ethics, perception management, performance and expectation fulfillment, and respect are universal and applicable in most any trade. While dispensing timely and essential advice, Rodríguez also compiles a memoir of his hard work and the hardships that he had to face to arrive at his current position today.

Professional knowledge and wisdom are truly Not Intuitively Obvious, but J. A. Rodríguez Jr. offers them to those desiring to know that which is often unspoken, yet expected.
