Patsy Lewis, along with two other Louisiana authors from New Orleans, was honored at the "Big Apple" Writer's Conference, held in New York in October. The three authors, as guests of the director of the Guild, were given center stage at the two day conference, where they talked about their work, their lives as writers, and their future projects. Patsy Lewis read an excerpt from her new novel "Gabrielle, That French Woman." A dinner was given in their honor by the Guild the last night of the conference. This was a grand affair, taking place in the lovely townhouse of Jacqueline Kennedy's former chef, Annemarie Huste. Ms. Huste prepared the elegant meal and also detailed the ingredients and preparation of each dish, as she entertained with anecdotes of her colorful life among the rich and famous. Lasting friendships were formed, along with exciting memories, from this very special week-end, made possible by Hannelore Hahn, founder and director of the IWWG.
