Gordon was told Italian-Americans do not talk that way and that not all are Mafia guys. The producer was warned if he didn’t stop characterizing Italian-Americans as criminals they would do something about it. Gordon said, “They even knew where I was staying. Not that I really take these threats serious, but I flew home yesterday."
After inadvertently walking through security at Burbank Airport in April with a prop gun in a shoulder briefcase, it appears Gordon may well need the protection of those security police.
Michael Gordon said, “This is the second time I have received threats. A few years ago I did a film called ‘Mafiosso’ and the same thing happened. I actually got a death threat on that film! The strange part about it was that some of the extras on ‘Mafiosso’ actually claimed to be ‘connected' with the mob, and that's the way they talked. So if these mob guys don't mind it why should the Arizona guys?"
Acclaimed for a host of action dramas Gordon has just completed the production of ‘Crushed Velvet’ in Phoenix. When asked about the threats over the production of ‘Dirty Little Trick’ Gordon said, ‘I know these guys are after illegal Mexicans but now they're targeting movie producers? I guess these people in Arizona are not very tolerant of anyone who is not an Arizonian”.
Mob rules for the production of ‘Dirty Little Trick’? It appears it may just be the case! Directed by Brian Skiba, ‘Dirty Little Trick’ stars the Superman hunk Dean Cain, Michael Madsen, and the imminent star actress Christie Burson.
