Stokes has penned a disturbing tale of a young woman who has been rejected by her father after the death of her mother in childbirth. "Talion" set in the 15th century England is a dark, unsettling novel that chornicles the self-destructive path of a tragic woman whose deepest desire is to wreak vengeance on those she blieves have betrayed her. The writing is rich and descriptive and adds to the gripping story line.
