Eileen, the chief librarian introduced the main speaker - city councillor Kieran McCarthy, whose interest in Cork heritage is outstanding. He engaged the audience in a livley discussion on the needs of story writing craft. He himself has produced several books about Cork and its heritage. Visit www.corkheritage.ie.
The author answered questions about story writing and announced the launch of a story competition for children 9-14 years.

Student actors from Cork Arts Studio, www.corkartsstudio.ie entertained the schooldchildren with excerpts from the new book. There was much fun and laughter and applause for this part of the launch. Many thanks to the students and their director for the hard work and rehearsals.
