Hi everyone,
Just wanted to update you.
At this point, I am writing songs faster than they can be produced, which is both wonderful and frustrating because I am not a producer. I will be working on some youtube videos just to get some songs out there for your listening pleasure...I hope..lol. In the meantime, some of the professional demo's that are done, will be getting pitched this week. "Pitched" is a term that means given to a producer or manager of an artist who is looking for songs. Some of these songs can be found on my reverbnation, although there are only a couple on there. I have great frustration with this whole thing because to be taken seriously in Nashville as a songwriter is like being a squirrel out in the country and claiming you're different than the rest of the squirrels. The majority of songwriters here, moved here to become songwriters. I started writing at eight years old, and wrote my first song to guitar at 14, so I have already been a writer/songwriter for 34 years and just happened to move here. Convincing someone that that makes me a better songwriter, well, quite frankly is near impossible but I am committed to finding someone out there who will take me seriously.
Finished writing "Abundant Christmas" (my first children's book) into a play and although there is no money in play writing, I would love to see it performed so I will be pursuing avenues with regard to that end.
Networking on Linked In....if you haven't added me yet feel free to send a request.
As suspected, the ghost writer novel project was a failure and I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Thank God I had them take my name off of the book.
That's all for now folks. Have a great day!
Fondly,
Sherry
