At some age we all want to know more about our families living or dead.

Each family might have a family historian who takes on that job and preserves the pictures, the weddings, deaths and births.

But twitter and facebook age have shifted that somewhat. The parents and grandparents are the ones increasing their use of facebook to the point where obituaries are now showing up on facebook, announcements of births, deaths and weddings are increasing appearing there too.

But the sense that many families are going through similar trials and jubiliations is not captured on facebook, which is mostly private. This blog will try to do both, share both aspects of family and try to relate this to the community of familes which in fact we are all part of.
