All Waters Gathering Now On Sale For The Holiday Season
Sunday, December 14, 2003  10:02:00 AM

by A.E.H. Veenman

A.E.H is proud to present her debut novel and its message of forgiveness, strength, and faith this holiday season with a heart-warming tale for the story-lover.

All Waters Gathering (ISBN:1-59286-582-8) has recently been released in America from its U.S. Publisher in paperback. USD$19.95.

During this holiday season and time of international uncertainties, All Waters Gathering represents a spirit of well-being and connectedness through its message of forgiveness, self-discovery, and family.

The novel is comprised of stories passed from one generation of women to the next, which strengthens each with a significant lesson relevant to her life and exemplified with a gift.

The journey begins with two unwitting women, Debra and Mieke, who meet one another through a community center. The story progresses toward the roots of their ancestry to reveal how their paths cross one another.

A new prospect at the history of Jacob Quakernaeck, Melchior van Santvoort, and William Adams, the Dutch and English tradesmen to first arrive on the shores of Japan in 1600, becomes Debra's passion in finding long lost relatives.

The reader is taken to New York, early 1900's, where a cobblestone road leads to an art gallery and an American-Japanese woman of English descent reveals the first sign of truth about the sailors' outcome.

The future is set in motion for Debra and Mieke. Continuing through to World War II, the stories told by Debra's grandmother, Siska, and Mieke's good friend, Anne, allow the reader to explore the triumph of the surviving women held captive in Japanese POW camps.

Coming to shore in the twentieth century, the reader sets foot on the sands of self-discovery, compassion, forgiveness and spirit, the ingredients that binds each and every one of the characters together. The reader is invited to reminisce to the wise teachings of the elders and share bittersweet memories alongside the characters.

Finally, the reader comes full circle with the characters' discovery of who they are, where they come from and what lies ahead; identification is like the sea that declines no water no matter what its source, therefore all waters gathering to form the sea.

More About All Waters Gathering

Debra Quakerneck started her day as any other ever since her husband was gone; however, that morning was going to be different even though she didn't know it. She met a woman, Mieke (Mee-ka) Adams.

Mieke shared stories and lessons she'd been taught. By that afternoon, Debra's life took a drastic turn at a traffic light. She was thrown back into a sea of insecurity. What was once normal had become abnormal. She was even lonelier than she had already been! Or, so she thought.
