What I am doing now
Saturday, March 15, 2003  8:40:00 AM

by Rosalie Ferrer Kramer

I now have a steady job writing for the Rancho Bernardo Sun in San Diego, and I continue with my writing on my new book "Saying and Doing it Right: With the Handicapped, Bereaved the Fatally Ill". It''s a how to book, whichI think will answer a lot of questions when dealing with the above mentioned. It includes many interviews with people who talk about their experiencesl

Most currently, I have finished a book titled, Saying and Doing it Right: With the Handicapped, Bereaved, and Fatally Ill. It is a "how to book" that includes personal interviews. In it I offer advice as to handle the problems named. It contains lists of what to say and do when faced with terrible tragedy, such as the loss of a child or other loved one. Several publishers have currently requested it. I have also finished a book titled "The Meter of My Life: A Different Kind of Memoir." It is a collection of poetry, prose and anecdotes written, starting with the birth of my daughter, Iris, when I was 22 years old, and continuing on through her brother's deaths and my life after. It includes the joy of sailing, retirement, old age and finally the deaths of friends and family as we all aged. It's the kind of poetry everyone can relate to, because it is about all of us. A the same time I am getting ready to send out my children's picture book which I illustrated. The story (in rhyme) titled "A Bat's Tale" is about a baby bat that landed on our sailboat while my 9-year-old granddaughter was traveling with my husband and I on our sailboat on Lake Huron. The book will also include reviews from the 4th and 5th grade children plus words from the teacher about the importance of learning about poetry.
