Bonus Poem:

45 year itch

The needle scratches the vinyl

Every time!!!

Did it do that before?

I don’t think so…..

The songs though familiar

Are strange to the ear.

The lyrics have changed over time

So of them don’t even rhyme…..

The mind wants to go back

The reality is that what I remember

Isn’t what really happened?

---Or so they tell me.

My reality is a warped version of everyone else’s.

Perhaps tomorrow will be better

Maybe then it will be the way I want it to be

Or maybe not.

What should I do now?

Why should it matter?

Because I am bigger, wiser, fatter?

Some think so……

They tell me I should have grown up by now…

But they won’t tell me why.

I should have outgrown all this

But I never even tried…

And I probably will put it off some more.
