Shelby Tyler is a private person, reluctant to let others get too close; young, attractive, extremely talented, with a view of the world as few others see it. Her only downfall is that she tries to see the good in all people, but more often than not they are a huge disappointment to her.
Her troubles begin when she receives a seemingly innocent email from a gentleman acquaintance who is interested in more than just the job he’s offering. In an attempt to further her career, Shelby accepts his offer and soon finds herself enthralled in a personal, as well as professional relationship with this man; a man who would take all that he set out to gain from her, while posing as her employer, friend and confidant.
It isn’t until the true nature of their relationship is exposed that she learns exactly what type of person she’s allowed into her life. Staring into the face of adversity, his cowardice and fear are revealed as he vehemently rejects their friendship, looks on her as the enemy and attacks with a vengeance, threatening to rock the foundation of her very world.
But Shelby is a survivor and learns what true loyalty, love and friendship means, as she comes to terms with her infidelity and tries to salvage the pieces of her shattered world.
