Hello Everyone:
I just wanted to share a glowing review that I received from RomanceAt Heart Magazine. The review is in reference to my novella, Love ToBehold:
Two people have one thing in common – neither is aware that a simple celebration will change their lives forever. Their chance meeting at a friend's gala has them professing they are a couple, to fend off another suitor's advances. This sham may well spark that flickering flame of a love to behold.
Valencia Hill, an accountant turned bridal consultant, has everything she could ever want, except for wedded bliss. Two years ago on their wedding day, her intended decided marriage was not for him. She overcame the embarrassment but the emotional hurt still lingers. Valencia finds it hard to move past the pain so buries it under long days on the job, also reason for her lack of dates. However, at a friend's party where she encounters a sensually dark featured man might help her forget that painful past. Maybe even gets her life moving in a completely new direction that includes more interludes that are intimate.
He worked himself out of the Chicago ghettos, earning himself a college degree and plays right field for a major baseball league. Since his celebrity status, Michael Gomez also plays center field with women, frequently. Catching sight of the most gorgeous woman, he cannot remember ever craving a woman as his insides twirled with carnal need. Once the introductions were out of the way, all was going well until he walked away to get her a drink. In Michael's absence, his ex-girlfriend enters the party. Oh, things just got very complicated.
This down to earth story will thrill readers as it flows smoothly, while making for a convincing read. Love To Behold published by Lavender Isis Press, is a sultry read as Michael vigorously woos Valencia. Concealing his philandering past from her, he knows her hesitation to date also stems from the media frenzy that follows a baseball player's activities away from the baseball diamond. Since breaking off with his last girlfriend, the one who proposed marriage, Michael feels the pull to settle down with the right woman. After the party, he follows Valencia home where he hands over his phone number. Michael senses that she won't call him, so threatens to show up at her place of business if she doesn't call to arrange a dinner date.
Ms. Ward's bona fide characterization maintains the natural amorous plot that imparts a realistic tale. Valencia's independent and stubborn nature keeps her from making that call. It is common knowledge that ball players frequently indulge in lusty unions whenever and wherever. Reassurance from her friends that Michael is an honest and straightforward man still leaves her uncertain. However, as her receptionist declares, "don't listen to gossip"; Valencia finally accepts his invitation to dinner. That date leads to more dates, and then meeting her family too. She starts to let her emotional guard slip as their relationship blossoms, and her trust in Michael's fidelity rises. Although, it maybe too soon. Visiting Michael unannounced in New York, Valencia catches him in the arms of his ex-girlfriend. Oh – naughty, naughty man!
An engaging and fascinating author, Ms. Ward entertains her readers with another exciting story.
