November 30, 2011 – The Remi Group held its 3rd Annual Food Drive competition at their headquarters in Charlotte, NC to benefit the Charlotte Rescue Mission. Employees were broken up into equal teams and encouraged to bring in the Mission’s most needed non-perishable food items throughout the month of November. The team that brought in the most pounds of food received a free PTO day to be used next year. The Remi Group’s employees’ generosity has never been greater or more evident. In total, the company collected a staggering 3,112.82 pounds of non-perishables! That’s a ton and a half of food donated to help replenish the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s pantry, who served 400 meals alone this Thanksgiving.
The Charlotte Rescue Mission, http://www.charlotterescuemission.org was founded in 1938 and provides residential programs for homeless and jobless men and women with alcohol and drug addiction issues at no cost to them. The spiritual, mental, physical, social, and vocational needs of individuals caught in the cycles of poverty, hopelessness, and chemical addictions are addressed at the Mission. Men and women from all walks of life voluntarily commit to the program in hopes of living a full and productive life as a contributing member of society.
