Howard-Johnson's first novel, This is the Place, has won eight awards. Harkening was recently released and already has garnered two awards. Her work can be found in anthologies such as Pass Fail, The Joy of Cancer, Mothers of Authors, Musings: Authors Do it Write! and the new Feminine Writes published by the National Association of Women Writers.
The new appointee is a columnist for The Pasadena Star News, Home Decor Buyer and MyShelf.com. She also writes occasional movie reviews for the Glendale News-Press.
