Award-Winning Author To Share Savvy at San Diego Writers’ Conference
Diane Dunaway, founder and coordinator of San Diego State University Writers’ Conference, has invited award-winning author Carolyn Howard-Johnson to present a program based on her newest release, THE FRUGAL BOOK PROMOTER: HOW TO DO WHAT YOUR PUBLISHER WON'T at their annual conference in January of 2005.
Howard-Johnson was named Woman of the Year in Arts and Entertainment this year by the 43rd and 44th District of the California Legislature. Her first novel, This is the Place, and her book of creative nonfiction, Harkening: A Collection of Stories Remembered, are both award winners. Her fiction, nonfiction and poems have appeared in national magazines, anthologies and review journals. She speaks on Utah's culture, tolerance and other subjects and has appeared on TV and hundreds of radio stations nationwide. She is also is an instructor for UCLA Extension’s Writers’ Program. Her new book, THE FRUGAL BOOK PROMOTER: HOW TO DO WHAT YOUR PUBLISHER WON'T, is a winner of USA Book News’ Best Books 2004 Award; it is available in e-book format at http://ebookad.com and in paperback at Amazon.com and other bookstores.
The conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in San Diego on January 21, 22 and 23. Howard-Johnson will speak and entertain questions on public relations and all things related with emphasis on promotion for writers on Sunday.
