We desperately need school supplies for students in New Orleans...
The Gulf Coast Renewal Campaign has partnered with the Congressional Black Caucus; in preparation for their forthcoming trip to New Orleans, Louisiana on August 9-10, 2006, to collect school supplies to deliver to some of the most poorly resourced schools in the hurricane-affected areas. The dates of the donation drive are July 31 through August 4.
If you are in DC or traveling to DC, then follow the directions immediately after this paragraph. If you are not in DC nor will you be traveling to Capitol Hill, then click here.
If you are traveling to Capitol Hill in Washington DC to visit offices, please pass by any of the following Congressional Black Caucus offices designated as drop-off locations to donate schools supplies or other items that the youngest survivors from one of this nation's most horrific natural disasters can use to get their new school year started off on the best possible foot.
Suggested supplies to donate:
Backpacks
Books (ages 6-16)
Lined loose leaf paper
Pencils/Pens
Erasers
Crayons
Scissors
