Getting ready for book readings

Much of this month has been taken up with getting read for the book readings in September.

August was a very strange month. Everyone was away on holiday. My husband and I are not going until September. And the weather in England left you wondering whether there really had been a summer.

And in Septmeber there are two book readings to get ready for. So, much of my time has been spent on making posters, sending out invites and contacting the press. It's actually quite a treat to sit back and do some writing for a change.

I've ordered a lot of books - at the author discount price and let's keep fingers crossed that I can sell them on and make lots of money for the two charities I'm supporting - the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and the Costa Animal Society.

Now all I need to do is practise reading and talking.

Fingers crossed.
