Poetry

The recent death of poet and critic Paul Lee.

As I put together the next issue of The Journal, which is dedicated to the memory of Paul Lee, the fact that he is now dead continues to catch me out in almost conversation with him. I look at what an immensely talented individual he was and am saddened all over again at the loss, and sorry all over again for Emma and Miranda. But most of all sorry for Paul, all that he will miss of being a father. Incomplete lives are always the saddest. He had so much more to give, so much more to be given.
