One topic that comes up often in my prayers is that we all learn we are truly related. I watch the news and see Arab, killing Arab. Catholic fighting and killing Protestants. Serbs killing Muslims. Muslims killing anyone not Muslim. Yet they kill each other because their sect is the true religion. Every church service I go to have the preacher tell the congregation that there is only one true church, the one you happen to be in at the moment.
We strive to know the Creator, yet we do things that go against our teachings? My Creator does not ask me to kill another in his name. That goes against my teachings. My teachers have told me that the Creator has made us all. Trees, frogs, man, and water. We do not have any place to say we are better than the other wonders of our Creator. He truly made us all. So we must all try to live as we know we must. As one people, as one with the universe, as one with nature. We all too often forget. I pray each night that we remember we are all relations. Not just people, but the land we walk upon, the lodge we live in, all things are linked to the Creator.
When one of us dies I grieve and pray for their spirits. Not just First Nation people or those from my tribe or clan. I recognize all as one. Each of us was sent here for a purpose and when one of us ceases to exist, I pray for their spirit. Red, White, Black, or Yellow. Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, NDN or Jew. We are all truly related.
I try to live the good life that I know the Creator has laid out for us to find and explore. When next you pray, ask the Creator to open your heart to his wisdom. Then we will start to understand that there are those of us who walk this Earth, which wish to create a world built on their words. They take the teaching of the Creator and tell those who will listen that it is wrong, and their understanding of the Creator’s words are correct.
They do so from pulpits, trenches, and hill sides. From store front churches to missionaries sent to show us the TRUE way as they were taught it by their leaders. All telling us what the Creator wants us to know.
When we walk the good red road, we know we are listening to the Creator. Not from words spoken to us, We know it from what we learn from the songs of the tree frogs, the breeze and the rain. The moan of rock splitting off from its brothers. That is the voice of the Creator. His song is sung to us every moment if we can take time to listen to it.
I recognize my Creator as a kind and caring father, who grieves over evil done in his name. He is my father and the creator of all things. Once we see that how can we continue to talk bad about another? We are all truly related. Try to remember that next time you wish to speak ill of another because they think differently. Ask the Creator to open their heart to his truth. Accept the blunderers and those who have no hope. Help to show them the way. Let that person find the Creator in their own way, not one that we say they must do or follow to be related. Accept them and help them to find the right path and send them on their way. Like a rock thrown into a still water, it ripples out to touch everything. You and I can be that rock. Let the wake we create be for good and not spoken in haste or anger.
You all my brothers and sisters, whether or not you chose to recognize me as your brother. I have already accepted you as mine. And as my relation, I wish you well and health. I wish that you help to open others eyes to what wonders the Creator has placed here for us to find. About ourselves and others.
I wish you well.
