National organization invites author Aberjhani to participate in annual festivities. (photo of Dr. Abigail Jordan, founder of Consortium of Doctors)

An award-winning author of history, journalism, poetry, and fiction, Aberjhani will join the Consortium of Doctors in Savannah, Georgia, on July 24, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for the organization’s 19th annual celebration convention, and for the  8th anniversary of the unveiling of the African-American Monument.

The author will autograph copies of the gift book ELEMENTAL The Power of Illuminated Love at two different times: from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 6 p.m. until approximately 9 p.m.

Aberjhani has published profiles of Consortium of Doctors’ founder Dr. Abigail Jordan in both his book, The American Poet Who Went Home Again , and as part of his African-American Arts Examiner column. The author could not guarantee that copies of The American Poet Who Went Home Again would be available for the signing but pointed out that it is available for ordering through both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

The Consortium of Doctors’ annual convention banquet is held to commemorate its founding, welcome new members or candidates, and discuss potential projects. The organization was initially founded “to encourage young African American adults to persevere in their efforts to succeed.” It was among those groups who spearheaded the drive to complete Savannah’s African-American Monument, which now sits on River Street next to the Hyatt. Over the past 19 years, the banquet has been held all over the United States, including in the cities of San Francisco, Atlanta, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, Hampton, and Charlotte.

For more information on the event, please call (912) 238-1234.
